Brasil Palace Hotel
BookLocation: City Center

This is an old hotel in the downtown area. The lift is manned day and night and the room windows are louvres only (no glass) so it can get quite noisy some evenings as the hotel is on a busy intersection. Nonetheless the stay was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful, although they spoke no English, and the overall experience was great....a bit of the old world feel. Not a touristy place at all. Breakfast in the hotel is good (plenty to choose from); there is free wifi; and the laundry service is cheap. Sadly there is not much around in the way of restaurants in the evening to choose from.- 05/09/2009, Mr. Len Cordiner and Sylvia Cordiner
Wallace was spectacular in being helpful and thorough.- 23/06/2008, Mr. HENRY BURTT RICHARDSON

Hotel Boulevard Plaza
BookLocation: Savassi

This hotel is a business hotel. It is clean and functional and has free Internet connection in the room, CNN etc so it works well for business. It has no charm however and if you are looking for something which allows you to experience "Brazilian" life, then this is not the place. Breakfast is a large buffet ...small range of cereals, fruit, lots of cakes plus rolls, scrambled eggs, cheese, ham etc.- 03/04/2010, Mr. Len Cordiner
The hotel was clean and functional and the service friendly. Free Internet is good, although there were periods when it went down. The location in Savassi is good...easy walking distance to may good restaurants, and the breakfast buffet is quite extensive.- 05/09/2009, Mr. Len and Sylvia Cordiner
