São Sebastião das Águas Claras, known as Macacos, is a typical charming village in Minas Gerais. Leaving the Belo Horizonte highway BR-040, just 27 km from the capital, tourists find a place with all the tranquillity and peace that one generally associates with regions far from large urban centres.
In this tour, we start walking from the BH Shopping Mall, passing trails, streams and a small forest to reach the tourist village of Macacos.

8:00 am - Meet the tour guide at the BH Shopping Mall
- Warm up with stretching exercises to begin the trail of 14 km (8.70 miles) to the Macacos village. We start trekking along the pavement, crossing the Vila Del Rei House village square, until we reach the stream of Macacos.
- Wade through the Macacos stream for about one hour, with water reaching up to half your shin.
- 12:30 pm- Arrival in Macacos village.
- 1:00 pm- Lunch at a local restaurant.
- 2:00 pm- Free time. Participants can walk around the village and visit guesthouses, restaurants and handicraft stores.
- 3:00 pm- Return to Belo Horizonte.
