Many of these trips were done by hitchhiking or other adventurous ways; by car, by bike, on foot or backpacking. Some of these trips were very long indeed. They once travelled more than 10,000 km, hitchhiking from the South to the North of Brazil. Though their way of travelling may not exactly be advisable, it gave them the opportunity they needed to really get to see and experience the best of their beautiful country and the most glamorous places around. These trips fueled the desire to start the project of a lifetime, and so Aliar Turismo was created with a professional view of sustainability. With sustainability at the forefront of their business, they can provide you with real travel and life experience, while at the same time helping local communities to benefit from tourism activity.

A team made of passion
When the team at Aliar heard about WHL and their approach to tourism, they were very excited to see a tourism company promoting destinations and connecting travellers to local cultures that were previously unable to be reached via the internet, not to mention their commitment to sustainability. They have always thought of tourism in ways similar to those of WHL and are pleased and honoured to be part of the WHL network.
When people think of Brazil, the image of great hospitality is more than natural. A country formed by people from all over the world, it is a mixed bag of cultures and lifestyles. Just look at the Aliar Tuismo team...
Ramon was born in Belo Horizonte and has Indian, African and Greek roots. He has been the manager of many bars and restaurants in Belo Horizonte and, because of that, he can give you tips on the best places to eat and drink, from the cheapest "butecos" (Brazilian typical bar) to the most sophisticated restaurants.
Vitor is a "paulista" (from São Paulo state) and comes from a Japanese family. He came to Belo Horizonte to study and literally fell in love with the city after travelling around the whole country and part of South America. In his opinion, Belo Horizonte is definitely the best place to live, to receive and to accommodate people in Brazil. As he is not a native of Belo Horizonte, he has a different view of the city, knowing best what to offer travellers.
Wallace is a typical Brazilian with so many mixtures in his roots that if we start to mention them we might never stop. Coming from a family of advertisers and photographers he developed an artistic eye at a young age. He is also an amateur photographer; seeing Belo Horizonte from an artistic and cultural perspective. He knows better than anyone all the cultural events that take place in Belo Horizonte.
Filipe is the newest member of the team and has a degree in International Relations. He is an environmentalist and cares about Inclusive Tourism. He found out Belo Horizonte is her perfect place for a lifetime. Therefore, he is always concerned about giving you details of how to locate yourself perfectly and enjoy better the city attractions.
Everyone is welcome in Brazil and the "mineiros" (people who were born in Minas Gerais state) are famous for their hospitality. Sure, the city has some problems, but what big city doesn't? Even still, Belo Horizonte is one of the best cities in all of Latin America to live and, of course, to visit!
