The Serrana Palace Hotel is a sophisticated hotel with a good infrastructure for events. The staff has been trained to provide excellent service; the hotel also provides specialised professionals to offer support to both business and leisure tourists.
The Serrana Palace was inaugurated in 1974, and it was the first hotel to cater to the demand of the Minascentro (Exposition Centre).
One of the interesting features of this hotel is its collection of paintings and sculptures from many places and diverse styles. Its first owner, Newton Lima Drumond (who passed away in 2004), was an art appreciator always kept a part of his own private collection at the hotel. Newton Drumond had a degree in Engineering and Law; he also liked to write romantic novels during his free time.
Now, the hotel is managed by his three daughters, who decided to retain their father's art pieces at the hotel.
