Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

In the hotel they have taken various measures to help reduce both their waste and power usage.

There are motion sensors in every corridor, leading to drastic reductions to the hotel's daily power consumption. Water control devices have also been fitted to taps to help reduce the amount of wasted water.

They try to educate and give options to guests to help achieve these goals through actions such as minimizing their own water use, laundry and power consumption. Staff members are also educated on how they can make a difference.

They recycle aluminium, paper and plastic and actively use technology to avoid waste. Staff members are then trained to collect and store recyclable waste correctly. When there is enough gathered, a special company is contacted to take this away.
