Inhotim

Duration: 1 day(s) - Location: Inhotim

The Cultural Institute of CACI was conceived by businessman Bernardo Paz in the mid-1980s. In 1984 the site was visited by the renowned landscape artist Roberto Burle Marx, who made some suggestions and contributions to the gardens. The private property has been transformed over time and has become a great cultural site of the area, and the first buildings have begun to receive works of contemporary art. There is also a rich botanical collection, consolidated since 2005. It is open to the public on regular days, and there is an increasingly growing number of visitors to CACI.

CACI's visitors have the opportunity to pass through the gardens, to meet part of the landscaped botanical collection and to appreciate the ornamental lakes, birds, aquatic animals and other elements that make up this space. In a panoramic tour the visitor will find an overview of the museum. Walking through a park area focuses on botany and art. The botanical collections include specimans different parts of Brazil with a focus on native species. The art collection contains some 500 works by over 100 artists from 30 different nationalities. There are exhibits ranging from the 1960s to the present day, covering sculpture, installation, painting, drawing, photography, film and video.
