Have you ever wondered who cares about poverty while you travel? Sleep comfortably in your newly furnished rooms at the Saint Martin knowing that the old beds, ironing boards, chairs and bed linen have been donated to the São Vicente de Paula Asylum in the neighbourhood.
The hotel uses solar energy to heat the water used in all the showers, reducing the overall energy consumption. So, enjoy your shower knowing that it is heated by solar panels!
The hotel staff members have also participated in a meeting promoted by the Municipal Guard (Polícia Militar), which was part of a programme called the Protected Neighbours Network. They have, therefore, been trained on maintaining safety in the neighbourhood and preventing crime. You will be staying in a safe area, as the hotel is directly involved in implementing the Safer Neighbourhoods programme.
