Mr. Luiz Antônio

It was in 1930 when Luiz Antônio’s grandfather moved with his family to Belo Horizonte with the main goal to provide his children with a good education. One of the first things that he did was lease a hotel; it was the beginning of more than 70 years of family tradition in the hotel industry.

In the 60s the family bought a commercial building that is now the Hotel São Bento. Luiz Antonio’s father, already in the business, started the reforms to transform the  commercial building into a simple hotel. There were many years of hard work and dedication. Luiz Antonio, a child, grew seeing the passion that his father had for the business increasing it more and more through the years.

Mr. Luiz Antônio started to work in the hotel in 1983, dividing his time between university and the hotel. The passion that his father had for the hotel contaminated Luiz Antônio also and he left his engineering course at university to work in the hotel on full time basis. He graduated on hotel management and headed the business, increasing the hotel services more and more. Nowadays, Hotel São Bento is one of the best in its category in all the city, a result of years and years of hard work and dedication. Now, Luiz Antonio manages the hotel with the assistance of two of his sisters.

Around 20 years ago, Luiz Antonio passed for a time of auto-reflexion, and the questioning of various values made him turn to spiritual questions. It reflected in his habits that became simpler. In the last 20 years he has been walking from work to his home every day. Besides leaving the car in the garage, is good for health, he comments.

His hobby is in the area of economics and he already applied some money on the stock exchanges. He also loves sports and has a great affection for the Parque Municipal with its many centenary trees.
