Mr. Luiz Salgado

Mr. Luiz comes from the countryside of Minas Gerais state, from a city called Pirapora. When he was 18 years old he served the army in Salvador, the capital of Bahia state. Obligations fulfilled with the army, he went to São Paulo to begin a new life. He worked for 20 years in a steel company. In 1990 he left the company to start his own business. He had owned a house lottery, sold second hand cars, owned magazines and newspaper stand, etc. But five years ago he decided to sell everything, his business, houses and cars, to move on to Belo Horizonte.

In Belo Horizonte he was looking for a business to buy at just the same time as Hotel Majestic was completely abandoned and for sale. He didn’t think twice, just bought the building and made several reforms in it to begin his new business. This reform followed the revitalization of the area the building is located within. It is part of a municipal administration program to recover some degraded areas in the city centre, called Centro Vivo ‘Alive Center’. The old building that is a historical heritage is now restored and preserved.

Mr. Luiz has adapted himself easily to Belo Horizonte. He likes to go to theatres and good restaurants. He is 51 years old and full of energy. He rides his bike through the whole city, and only take his car for travelling.
