Day 1- 6:00 pm- Wednesday- Belo Horizonte to Diamantina (by car)
Distance: 301 km
Time: 4 hours
- In Diamantina, we spend the night and have dinner in one of the local restaurants.
Day 2- Thursday
Daily Mileage: 40 km ( 24.85 miles)
- After breakfast, we start following the Brazilian Royal Road, riding for about 40 km (24.85 miles) on a mixed terrain-relatively easy with moderate challenges and hills. We will pass the village of Vau, reaching São Gonçalo do Rio das Pedras.
- Lunch and night in São Gonçalo´s guest house.
Day 3 - Friday
Daily Mileage: 28 km (17.4 miles)
- 7:00 am - Get ready for the longest ride of this tour! The way is replete with natural beauty. We leave São Gonçalo towards the city of Serro taking a short break to rest and refresh ourselves in one of the waterfalls we will be passing.
- Lunch and night in Serro city.
Day 4- Saturday
Daily Mileage: 80km (49.70 miles)
- 7:00 am - We will be getting, on the road on the way to the town of Conceição do Mato Dentro, crossing the gorgeous landscapes of the Brazilian Royal Road, until we reach Santo Antonio do Norte, also named Itapera village and then Conceição do Mato Dentro. During this day, the path we will ride through is the main track of the Royal Road Mountains, also called the hills of Itaponhacanga.
- Lunch and night in Conceição do Mato Dentro.
Day 5- Sunday
Daily Mileage: 65km (40.4 miles)
- We leave Conceição do Mato Dentro bicycling on paved roads and tracks to the Serra do Cipó National Park. We will take a break at the Capivara waterfall.
- Return to Belo Horizonte (by car).
